What I look forward to most at this time of year is being ‘off-schedule’ with my family.
We will “chill out” together, a few outdoor activities together, bake together, cook together and maybe use up some movie passes at the theatre together. It goes without saying that we will, of course, do a lot of eating together as well 🙂
We also like to take time to think of others who may be going through difficult times.
We will speak with them about children who don’t even have enough to eat or a coat to wear, let alone the latest video game or i-device. We will remind them how many children are unwell and spending the holidays in the hospital.
I recently found out about the Kraft #WellWishes initiative and I’ll be having each of my children create a wish that we can send together online.
Wondering what this initiative is, exactly?
Well, there are basically two ways to get Kraft Canada to donate money to the Children’s Miracle Network:
(1)For every greeting sent to children in hospital sent using the #WellWishes hashtag, Kraft Canada will donate $1 to Children’s Miracle Network.
(2) For certain Kraft items purchased at Walmart Canada (until January 15, 2015), Kraft Canada will also donate $1 to Children’s Miracle Network.
If I go to Walmart, for example, and purchase 6 jars of Kraft Peanut Butter, a package of Cracker Barrel and 2 packages of Philadelphia Cream Cheese, then Kraft Canada will donate $10 to Children’s Miracle Network!
You may be wondering what I might do with 5 jars of Kraft Peanut Butter…That’s easy – donate them!
Did you know that peanut butter is a great thing to donate to food banks? At this time of year, when we are thinking of giving back, the peanut butter idea would give in two ways- 1) to the shelter or food bank & 2) to the Children’s Miracle Network!
