You May Have What it Takes to Save this Six-Year-Old’s Life. Please Read. Swab. Share.

As you may already have heard, a Montreal family is desperately searching for a bone marrow donor for their six-year-old daughter Ellie, who is battling leukemia for the second time.

Ellie White is a kind, wise, caring 6-year-old little girl in the first grade. She was diagnosed with a severe form of leukemia called AML in December 2017. Despite treatments, she has since relapsed. Ellie now needs a bone marrow transplant in order to survive.

Family and friends are urgently appealing to people between the ages of 18-35 to register with Hema Quebec for a bone marrow testing kit which contains four swabs and puts the recipient on a worldwide list of donors.

Getting swabbed is easy and as per the recent interview with Susie Joron of HEMA Quebec on CTV News, the pain post-transplant ( for the donor) is described as a local pain, similar to having fallen on the ice.

You can watch that CTV segment by clicking here.
