RECALL: IKEA Canada recalls LATTJO Bat Cape

This recall involves the IKEA LATTJO Bat Cape. The cape is black, 100% polyester and has a fastener at the neck.  The article number is 603.116.50.  Its dimensions are 75 cm (length) x 146 cm (width).

The LATTJO Bat Cape fastener may not detach readily during use posing a strangulation and injury hazard to children.

Health Canada has not received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these products.

IKEA Sweden has received three reports (Sweden and Canada) of the LATTJO Bat Cape fastener not releasing, resulting in minor injuries to the user.

Approximately 749 LATTJO Bat Capes have been sold at IKEA stores across Canada and online at www.ikea.ca.

Approximately 4,580 units LATTJO Bat Capes have been sold at IKEA stores across the United States and online at www.ikea.com.

The LATTJO Bat Capes were sold in Canada and the United States from November 2015 to February 2016.

Consumers should immediately stop using the LATTJO Bat Cape and return it to an IKEA store for a full refund.

London Drugs has received one report of the handle melting. No injuries have been reported.

The recalled products were sold from June 19, 2014 to March 9, 2016.

Consumers should immediately stop using the coffee maker and return the product to a London Drugs location for a full refund.
