Once upon a time I used to say to people “Have you tried McDonald’s coffee lately?” and would often launch into a whole explanation about how good the McCafé coffee is.
That’s no longer the case. As soon as I (or anyone else) mentions McDonald’s and coffee in the same sentence, people immediately start:
” I LOVE McDonald’s coffee”
“McCafé is the BEST”
” We buy their beans for the house!”
One of my clients has a STACK of the McCafé loyalty cards on his desk. ( He should remember to use them LOL!) The other day when we were on the phone he asked me to hold- he was getting a coffee.
“McD’s?” I ask.
“Where else? “.
So while in the past I may have made this post all about how great McCafé coffee is and the fact that you should get out and try it, I feel like you probably already know that. If you don’t, now will be the time to try 😉
Why? Because McCafé is having a $1 Specialty Coffee Event at McCafé until October 9th!
For $1 (plus tax) you can get a small McCafé Specialty Coffee at participating restaurants across the country.
What are your choices?
- Pumpkin Spice Latte (not available in Quebec)
(You should note that espresso, iced coffee, brewed coffee, hot tea or deluxe hot chocolate are not included as part of the promotion )
I’m a Latte girl myself, but given that it’s the season of pumpkin & spice, I’m going to add that the Pumpkin Spice Latte is made with real pumpkin, steamed milk & topped with cinnamon spice. Yum.
In case you didn’t already know, your McCafé specialty beverage can be customized to personal taste with:
- 2% or skim milk
- a shot of vanilla, sugar-free vanilla or caramel flavour.
I can also add that McCafé beans are 100% Rainforest Alliance certified, and sourced from farms in Indonesia and Central and South America. This means that McCafé beans are grown and harvested with great respect and care for people, wildlife, and the environment. I expect no less from my McD’s
So, given that it’s National Coffee Day, why not stop by a McCafé and treat yourself to a small specialty coffee? If you’re really in the mood to indulge…pair it with a McCafé Bakery item Then, if at all possible, stop and sit still for a moment while you quietly sip your Cappucino ( or Americano, or whatever you choose). Take a moment to actually enjoy your treat.
Now – if that’s not possible- do what I do: Enjoy it on the go while feeling gratitude for the small treats we give ourselves that bring us tiny moments of peace in our too-crazy-busy days
So remember – the event is on today, but continues through October 9th- so enjoy it…and fill up those McCafé loyalty cards to use once the event is over 😉
Wishing you a Special National Coffee Day with #ANewWayToCafe 😉
