English Movie Night at Cine-Parc Belle Neige TONIGHT! For a Cause :)

Many families are spending their time up north these days and if you are, this is a PERFECT way to spend an evening out, especially if you’ve ever wished that the Belle Neige Drive in would broadcast movies in English 🙂 Also, if you happen to be in the city, remember that Belle Neige is only an hour away from Montreal (make sure to check you Waze before leaving in case of traffic). You can be safely distanced in your car, enjoying an entertaining flick (or two!) and all for the benefit of a worthwhile cause!

The event is being hosted by the Nellie Philanthropy Foundation to benefit Moisson Laurentides.

What is Nellie Philanthropy?

It is a wonderful grassroots team that just wants to help others. Here are just a few of their initiatives that have taken place over the last 2 months:

  • The CSL Groceries project designed to ensure that no senior was left unserved…and they delivered 😉
  • Supporting organizations such as the Black Community Association of CSL/NDG, the Dawson Community Centre, the Depot, and the Filipino Association of Montreal and Suburbs (FAMAS)…….
  • They raised $1,800 for EACH of the Generations Foundation and MADA, through an unbelievably successful bottle drive!
  • The Build-It-Forward pandemic project supplemented the LEGO it collected and went shopping! So much LEGO for kids who could really use it during this pandemic

…and there is even MORE…and that is just in the last 2 months. You can read more at nelliefoundation.ca .

TONIGHT, Nellie Philanthropy will be hosting the first-ever English films being shown up north at the Belle Neige Cine-Parc for Moisson Laurentides. PLEASE BRING A BOX OF CEREAL!

Why is Nellie Philanthropy, a Montreal-based organization,  doing this and why are they collecting cereal for Moisson Laurentides?  Many Montrealers spend time and have homes up north and Nellie Philantrophy founder David Lisbona has been working towards affirming a place for the Anglophone community in the Laurentians. As David puts it: ‘We love living here and I believe it is important to give back to organizations up here, not only in Montreal. Over Xmas, we collected baby food for Moisson Laurentides and now cereal because breakfast programs have been placed on hold and so many kids in the Laurentians need our help.’

Please come out TONIGHT, and please remember to bring a box of CEREAL.

Please note that both screens offer a double-featurs but movie after 1917 will likely be broadcast in French…you can stay and enjoy it or call it a night;)

Tickets can be purchased online at belleneige.com/cine-parc/ or just show up tonight at 7PM and buy them in person. If you choose the online option, don’t be put off by the fact that there is no date attached to the tickets…it’s a just a ‘buy and use at-some-point-during-the-season’ kind of thing 😉

Hope to see you tonight…from a distance!

Tanya
