Disney-Pixar’s “Incredibles 2” – As Fabulous for Parents as it is for Kids!

My husband and I have been anticipating the release of Disney-Pixar’s “Incredibles 2” just as much (if not more!) than the kids have. There is something SO relatable about the family dynamic and I happen to think that every Mom on the planet was grateful for Disney-Pixar’s ability to embody the superhero in every mom in Elastigirl.

On the way in, a colleague expressed concern at whether or not this would be good as sequels often disappoint. Let’s just say this: It didn’t.  I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and as I don’t believe in spoilers, I’ll just share a few reasons of why I did. Note: My hubby and kids have not yet seen the movie so I cannot help you with their reactions this time.

This movie was a reflection of my life as the Mom of teens.

Now, not all the kids in the movie are teens – you may be aware that “Incredibles 2” picks up right where the first “Incredibles” movie left off. That said, it may simply be the fact that the challenges of parenting teens is such a central theme to my life right now that this is what I drew from the movie.

But it’s not just about the teens…it’s also about the husband & wife dynamic and about stepping up for your family. As always, the inner struggles of a Mom’s brain are featured and were well-appreciated by me (and I think most Moms will agree 😉 ) I’ll add that there is also some messaging about screen time…it’s sort of subtle and not-so subtle at the same time, but it is definitely there.

The movie also delivers a good share of laughs generated by relatable moments as well as ‘other’ situations.

All in all, I’d say make some time to go see “Incredibles 2” – you won’t be disappointed 🙂

In case you weren’t sure about the release date, Disney-Pixar’s ‘Incredibles 2’ opens in theatres THIS FRIDAY, June 15th, 2018!

For those of you who have not yet seen the trailer, here it is:

Enjoy!

  1. Loved this movie ! It was so much fun. I don’t have my own experience with teens yet but my daughter can be a little jack jack sometimes

  2. It’s one of the best animated movies of all times!
