Have you heard about Amazon Canada’s New Prime Student MONTHLY Offer?!?!

I realize that my readers are mostly Moms and Dads, I am therefore addressing this post to you so that you can share with the students in your lives. This offer applies to CEGEP, College and University Students.

While Amazon Prime Student has been around for a while, Amazon has just launched a new MONTHLY offer for students to get all of the benefits of Prime Student without committing to a yearlong membership. The monthly plan is just $3.99 a month, compared with $39 for the annual membership. This can be especially helpful for students on a tight budget that would prefer to pay on a monthly basis. Plus, the first six-months is a trial at no cost!  (*NOTE: Quebec residents get a 7-month membership for CDN $3.99 instead of a trial.* My thought: It comes to the same for the subscriber, but I suspect that for whatever reason the offer must be worded this way in Quebec.)

It’s no secret that I am an Amazon Prime member and I just LOVE my Prime. It is worth every penny, because the truth is that it saves me WAY more money than I invest in my annual fee.

Membership comes with a host of benefits but honestly, what I save in shipping and time alone makes it completely worth it. The reason I mention time is because sometimes when we need things quickly, we don’t want to pay for expedited shipping so we find ourselves running out to the store to get the item(s) in need. With Amazon Prime Free two-day shipping, there is hardly ever the need to spend time doing this. For all of you students, this can be pretty helpful for ‘situations’… like when you need that lightweight backpack that you should have bought 2 months before your trip but were too busy with exams to remember… and you’re leaving next week… yikes! Also, when you need those supplies for your project due on Monday, but have no time to make it to the store before the weekend because your schedule is absolutely jammed all week, Amazon Prime FREE two-day shipping WILL save you!!!

I am slightly embarrassed to say that I only recently discovered Amazon Prime Video. I have had this for FREE all along and only started to use it recently…and I LOVE it!!!! In case you’re wondering, the answer is YES, Students will have instant access to movies and TV shows with Amazon Prime Video, even within their six-month trial of Prime Student 😉 (That said, please note that Prime Music benefit is not available during the trial period.)

Finally, as a Mom of teens that are forever concerned about having enough storage for their photos, the UNLIMITED photo storage on Amazon Photos at no additional charge for Prime members would be a lifesaver for any student!!!  I personally just started taking advantage of this benefit and am thrilled to have it.

The above benefits are the top 3 that I use, but then again, I am not a student…so Twitch isn’t really that important to me…but it may be to students 😉  Here is a list of benefits so that you can see for yourselves 🙂

  • Fast, Free Shipping:

o   Unlimited Free Two-Day shipping on millions of items

o   Prime FREE One-Day Shipping in select cities

o   Prime FREE Same-Day Delivery if shipping to Toronto or Vancouver

  • Prime Video: Instant access to movies and TV shows including popular licensed content plus critically-acclaimed and award-winning Prime Original Series and Movies from Amazon Studios like The Grand Tour, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan (also now included in the six-month trial sponsored by UGO)
  • Deals and Special Offers: Exclusive student deals and offers including discounts on selected textbooks (for a limited time use TEXT10 at checkout), fashion and much more
  • Twitch Prime: Enjoy a selection of free games and in-game loot
  • Amazon Photos: Securely store existing photo collections, automatically upload new photos taken and access them anytime, anywhere, at no cost

Finally, students who refer friends can earn a $10 credit for each friend who joins:) Click on the image below for details:

I think Amazon Prime Student is a fabulous deal at the annual subscription rate of $39 for the year, but for those who are not really sure or need to split it up in payments, the $3.99/ month is a phenomenal price that offers the flexibility that some students may need.  Also, don’t forget that the first 6 months are free so you have plenty of time to decide if this is something you want to keep or not.  I  think you WILL want to keep it, and that you will want to refer your friends as well 😉 Plus, at $10 for each friend who joins, you could be saving up for all of the fabulous specials that come up on Amazon Prime Day this summer – available ONLY to Prime members. Haven’t heard of Prime Day? Google it…

Let me guess, some of you who are reading (and are not yet Prime members) are thinking… “Why only for the kids?  I want this, too!

Good thinking 😉

Click below and get started!

Reminder that as a non-student, the regular rates are $79 per year or $7.99/ month. I’ll say it again: worth. every. penny.

Like I said, I am a HUGE fan of Amazon Prime and I think that it is terrific for students, parents and grandparents alike. I’ll even add that in the crazy Montreal weather we’ve been having…would you not CHOOSE free home delivery instead of risking the ice and the potholes?

That’s what I thought.

Go for it & let me know what you think when you have it. As for your students, they’re likely too cool to comment on my blog…but you can let me know how they like it…if they share that much with you 😉

Wishing you a day where what you want comes directly to you 😉
