Kids Helping Kids Fight Child Poverty – A Chance to Shine Event with Le Petit Cirque

ometz_logoLast year I had the opportunity to attend the Agence Ometz Annual Gala at Place des Arts featuring The Silhouettes who were finalists in America’s Got Talent.  The performance did not disappoint.

The evening was additionally inspiring as we got to hear firsthand how Agence Ometz changed the life of a family…one story among thousands….

This year’s gala will help raise the funds necessary to support individuals and families struggling with the daily challenges of poverty, neglect, hunger, addiction, abuse, learning disabilities and mental illness. Thanks to the generosity of Montreal philanthropists Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Black who have acted as patrons of the gala, enabling 100% of the evening’s proceeds to go towards helping children and youth at risk.  This has been the case since the inception of A Chance to Shine 4 years ago,

ACTS_main_banner_crop_ENThe event will feature a premiere performance by Le PeTiT CiRqUe, LLC (TM) , an all-kids circus troupe from Los Angeles. Founded and directed by Quebec-born Nathalie Yves Gaulthier, the California- based group features the talents of young prodigies aged 14 and under. The circus troupe creates powerful visuals that sensitize and inspire audiences with breath-taking acrobatics.

Local youth known for their vocal talent will join Le Petit Cirque on Stage, further enhancing the performance. Event Chair Ruth Choueke tell us how “It’s kids helping kids fight poverty,” and that “It’s about empowering our community’s youth to work together towards a brighter future for all.”

This performance will bring messages of hope and joy to all the children helped by Ometz, hundreds of whom will be in attendance at the gala.
