Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle – Surprisingly Hysterical

written by Tanya Toledano

When my family was invited to see Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, we were expecting an adventure-based movie that would border or scary. The reason for that is that’s what the first Jumanji film was like.

What we did NOT expect was to laugh as much as we did. From the first 5 minutes of the movie, the laughs kept coming. Those of you who are into social media (or have someone in your lives who is) will laugh even harder than the rest of the audience.

There is definitely adventure, what I walked away with was the sense of continuous laughter, and while this was unexpected, it was a refreshing surprise ☺

The film also delivers on some of the thoughts that run through teenage minds, as a mom of teens, I appreciated it ☺

I happened to have LOVED the movie, as did the entire family, including my hubby, my 16 year old , my 14 year olds and my 11-year old.

I’m not sure who the funniest chanacter was, because they were all terrific.

I don’t want to share too much because, as you know, I don’t believe in spoilers. If you have teens and/or tweens and have time to take in a movie over the holidays, Jumanji is a great pick. That said, depending on your sensitivity to inuendo, you may want to stick to tween & up for this movie. For some families, it will be fine for younger than tween. As always, check out what commonsensemedia.org has to say about it, if you are at all concerned.

My 11 year old was so excited about it that she wanted to write a review as well ☺

Here’s what she had to say:

“I found that it was cool what happened when they got sucked into the game.

I think that the movie is appropriate for ages 11 and up because there is some language.

It was a really funny movie and I really enjoyed it”

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle opened in theatres December 20th

Enjoy the adventure…and have a good laugh!
