Let’s face it, we are all way busier than we’d like to be, and cleaning is not the #1 thing on our fun-things-to-do list.
That said, life with kids means living with a constant cycle of messy and clean. There are, however ways to make cleaning up easier ( and even fun for kids!). One of the ways we have been make cleaning up easier in our home for over a decade is by using Swiffer.
Disclosure: I am a P&Gmom/mamanP&G. As part of my affiliation with this group I receive products and special access to P&G events and opportunities. As always, the opinions on this blog are my own and can never be bought
The Swiffer product that changed my life the most was the Swiffer Wet Jet.
Suddenly, I was able to clean the kitchen floor without running to the laundry room for a mop & bucket, without having to load that bucket water and a touch of my precious Mr. Clean (can’t help it though, I still love Mr Clean!). This was absolutely life-altering, especially when I had 4 small children running around the house. I remember actually feeling grateful for the time saving as well as for the “back saving” by not having to lug a bucket of water.
Let’s just say, it became A LOT easier to say #YesToTheMess that inevitably arises out of kids creative play as well as my own desire to cook & bake & experiment with them in the kitchen knowing that I have Swiffer on my team 😉
When Swiffer introduced the Swiffer WetJet Solution for wood, I was ECSTATIC. I now had the same convenience I had been enjoying in the kitchen, available to me for my living room, dining room & hall.
Although in our home there are still times when the floor gets the bucket & mop treatment with the Mr. Clean, it’s truthfully not even close to how often we use our Swiffer Wet Jet.
Best of all, now that the kids are older, we let them use the Swiffer – the only downside is that they fight over who gets to use it!
Those of you who watch BT regularly may remember me speaking about how my kids also used to fight over who used to get to use the Swiffer duster. Well, now we have multiple wands in the house, so there’s no need for fighting- everyone can work at the same time, if they so choose! ( I recently received the Swiffer 360 Duster, which I have yet to try…you can be sure that I will let you know how I like it!)
We also have a Swiffer SteamBoost, which is maybe one of the lesser-known Swiffers. You basically fill up the water tank, arm it with a SteamBoost pad and plug it in. The steam easily deep cleans sticky stains that might otherwise be tougher to tackle. We take it out when we need to do a deeper cleaning. I feel it important to mention that given hot steam is coming out of this Swiffer, we are more careful around the kids, and although it may be ok for some wood floors, I confess I don’t use it on mine. In any case, the wood floors don’t get the same type of mess as the kitchen does so truthfully the WetJet remains our Swiffer of choice for the wood
