Reusable Produce Bags-LOVE!

Like so many people, I try to remember my reusable shopping bags all the time.  When I forget I end up with a bunch of plastic that I end up reusing somehow (at least those that make it home without developing holes in them)

The bags I have a hard time putting to good use are the produce bags: those smaller, thin clear bags that we use to gather our apples, pears, peppers & more.

I was thrilled when I found these great bags at Loblaws.  I’ve been using for 2-3 weeks now & I approve.

They’re made of a very fine mesh so they won’t add any real weight to the scale when your produce is weighed,

This is what the package looks like.  You can find it in an independent aisle display near the food wrap.

They come in a package of 4 bags/ $1.94.  The bags are packaged in a small reusable pouch that are perfect for smaller items like garlic, ginger or jalapenos.

Affordable & eco-friendly.  My kind of purchase 🙂

Until next time,

Tanya

  1. I love reusable bags because it avoids using plastic bags that harms our environment. Most of us don’t know that plastic bags are the main reason why we are having problems with mother nature. It’s great that you posted something like this to help them learn about this topic.

  2. These are a fantastic solution. My mom actually started making them before I ever saw them in stores, so I’ve been using them for a while. Tip: To wash them, I put them in a lingerie bag with a load of laundry.

Wouldn’t it be great if we got to save money each time we used these bags? Would that encourage more people to use them? Stores that offer loyalty points could award points when customers use their reusable produce bags- many stores do this already for reusable shopping bags.

I once had a cashier ask me if I was concerned that the reusable bags were adding weight to my produce, thus amping up the price. Ummm, how much could these bags really weigh?!

  3. Hi!
Which Loblaws is this? I’ve never seen them in mine (Brossard)
    Thanks!

  4. I have pretty much the same problem. I’m in the habit of using my fabric grocery bags, but can’t seem to remember to use my fabric produce bags… Must try harder!

  5. i use fabric grocery bags all the time! try to use reusable all the time. haven’t used fabric produce bags yet, but those look great for a super good price!
