The Odd Life of Timothy Green-In Theatres August 15!

When I attended the BlogHer’12 conference, I had the opportunity to see an advanced screening of The Odd Life of Timothy Green.

It’s a story about a young couple whose doctor informs them that they won’t be able to conceive/have children.  The couple dreams about what their child would be like and then (without giving away too much of the story) a child miraculously appears into their life.

But things are not perfect.  The storyline follows as the family navigates through some very different as well as all-too-familiar struggles and hurdles as they attempt to raise their child.

If I had to describe the movie in only a few words, I would say: Imaginative, heart-warming, heartbreaking and refreshing.

The fact that not everything has a fairytale ending and not everything works out just perfectly make this highly imaginative story somewhat more believable and more heartbreaking, but also more heart-warming.  It’s also part of what makes it so refreshing.

It’s a NICE movie. Would I rate it as the must-see movie of the year? Maybe not..or maybe yes. Am I taking my 4 kids to see it on opening day?  You bet I am.

It’s a beautiful and DIFFERENT story.  It can be enjoyed by both children and adults.  It has beautiful messages about love, life & perseverance as well as accepting and appreciating others for who they are, even if they are a little different.

The world could use a few more movies like this.

The world could use a little more faith and hope and belief in miracles.

The world could use a little more imagination.

The world could use a little more Timothy Green.

Our kids could benefit from a little Timothy Green.

We all could.

I’ll be at the theatre. If you see me, please stop by and say hello 🙂

Need a little more convincing?  Here’s the trailer:

Wishing you a day where dreams come true,

Tanya
