TELUS Proposed…and I Said YES!

IMG_0009Those of you who’ve been reading for some time already likely know that I am a fan of TELUS.

I told my story about a year and a half ago of Why I made the switch to TELUS. For those of you who don’t already know, I found out that TELUS gives more philanthropically in 1 year than all of the other telecommunications providers COMBINED!

I decided then that I would prefer to spend my telecommunications dollars with a company that would re-invest a portion of that money into the community.

I switched to TELUS and my husband followed suit.  I kept smiling when I would get my cell phone bill for  just thinking about how my cell phone spend was helping the community.

Again, as many of you already know, TELUS is a MAJOR sponsor of WeDay…not sure what that is?  Check out WeDay Montreal…What is WeDay, again?

Screenshot 2015-07-16 11.52.30Think about how many kids are empowered by this event and by this sponsorship…and about how many acts of good go into the world as a result.  If you stop to do the math…the numbers are mind-blowing.
So I will fully admit that I fell truly.madly.deeply in love with TELUS when I learned all of this.

Since then, my affections have only deepened.

The service has been wonderful.

Being a TELUS customer is wonderful.

What other company emails you to offer a free no-strings attached gift?  I was offered a choice between a Starbucks gift card, movie passes or a $20 donation to one of a selection of charities!  (Because that’s the way TELUS thinks!).

What other telecommunications company encourages you to UNPLUG to reconnect with your family to get into #holidaymode at the holidays???  TELUS does…that’s who!Screenshot 2015-07-16 11.50.50

LOVE.

So when I got a call from a contact at TELUS letting me know that they were putting together a TELUS Advocates program and asking me (since I have been so outspoken about my love for TELUS) if I would be willing to be part of the team…

I was about to shout “Of course!”…but before I could, she let me know that as an advocate I would get to choose the phone I wanted …

I tried again to say “yes” but she kept going, telling me that I would also get special gifts and services and access to TELUS events.

IMG_9018She didn’t have to go further…the “YES” was really trying to come out of my mouth when she told me that I’d be informed of TELUS programs so that I could give my readers the scoop…

“Yes!” …it almost had the chance to escape my mouth when she added that TELUS would also donate $500 to the charity of my choosing!

“YES!!!!” I was finally able to answer!

YES. YES. YES.  Of course I was excited about a new phone and all of the benefits, but truth be told I was due for my upgrade anyway…I wasn’t doing this for the phone.

The truth of the matter is…While I SO VERY MUCH appreciate all of the gifts and how TELUS has been treating me like some sort of a rockstar…the honest-to-goodness truth is that for TELUS, I would have done it anyway without all that…because:

@TELUS: When you proposed…You had me at HELLO.

That being said, I am extremely grateful for all of the fabulous goodies that I have received, and it just shows what a class act that TELUS is…because they wouldn’t dream of not somehow showing their appreciation to all of the bloggers who have been chosen and agreed to be part of #TeamTELUS.  They know that we work hard at what we do and they want to show how much they appreciate our time and input (Oh yes…they want our input….they are not looking for programmed mouthpieces…not TELUS…They want us to tell them how we feel, good, bad or indifferent.)

15_00390-06-Badges_EN-115x115-Circle[1]So, now that I have said YES:

It’s official : I am a #TeamTELUS Advocate!

The formal announcement was made on TELUS’ own blog last week 🙂 TELUS handpicked 15 bloggers from across Canada to form this incredible team!  You can read all about it here: Introducing the #TeamTELUS Advocates

I will be talking a lot about the program and all of the cool stuff that I learn about in the coming months but first I had to share the fabulous news with all of you here on the blog.

For now, why don’t I share with you a pic of the goodies I received as my WELCOME to the program 😉

I’m just a tad excited about this 🙂

Let’s be honest, I am so not the type to get engaged because of the bling that comes with the proposal…but a little bling is still appreciated!

My post would not be complete without honourable mention to Kevin at the TELUS learning centre in Laval who helped me get set up with my new baby.

Not sure what a TELUS Learning Centre is?  Basically, you can make an appointment to have a trained TELUS professional help you understand all of the features of your mobile tech…the features you know about and those that you don’t 🙂 Did you know that my new Fitbit is compatible with Weight Watchers if I want to track my points?  I didn’t – but I do now…because Kevin taught me! He also took me through how to use my first Selfie Stick which I am slowly getting used to 🙂 And just to be perfectly clear…the TELUS Learning Centre is not just for members of #Team TELUS… it’s for all TELUS customers! (You can reserve online by clicking here)

Thanks Kevin!!!

  1. I also support Telus without reservation.

My phone lines are Telus. Our cell phones are Telus. We recommend Telus to our clients.

When I was renegotiating terms on all my cell phones, Telus gave me what I asked for and then called me back afterward to offer a rate reduction I didn’t request.
